Fall Equinox - Interior Design Phase
We change with the seasons on the Solstice Dome project. Yeah, we're still "plastering" but actually we're stuccoing, and because this is the final finish to the wall, we're calling construction complete! We're moving on to decoration, that means walls, floors, final touches. With every season, a new phase happened. We started on Winter Solstice and filled bag row after row until spring equinox when we closed the dome and began the exterior plastering phase, and we still had Jon. WE MISS JON!!!!! He's out there somewhere, like the ghost of a cowboy, and maybe one day he will breeze back into our side of town and into our lives. He is always welcome at the dome and his key still works. Raquel and I plastered the inside through the summer from solstice till today, but the difference is now we are stuccoing and its starting to get really smooth and nice inside. At this phase, problems that were left unsolved are now beckoning to be attended to. The place where the rows meet the door was not that pretty because I only used a "2D" door frame. Next time ill build the door frame deep enough to get nice smooth row ends instead of the messy way they hit the 2x4. Plaster fixes all, and stucco leaves no men behind! Onward to winter solstice and our DESTINY! We gotta wrap this up and pour the floor within a month or so. I have holes made from the small pvc tubes I could utilize to make a wrap around counter in the big dome, but I will save that for a later date. I digress. Some exciting finishing details are coming though, like an ocean themed floor with an epoxy river filled with sea creatures surrounded by blue .
